DIY: T Shirt Head Bands!

Hey guys!!! Multiple posts in one day?! I know, I have
too much time on my hands!

Anyway, I was chatting with a fellow blogger the other day and we were talking about natural hair and bangs and styling said natural hair.
See, about 3 or 4 years ago, I had the best idea:
Lets get BANGS!
And I continue to enjoy them but more and more these days
I've been pinning them up or wearing head bands.
On that note, I remembered finding a DIY a few months back so
I thought I would explore!

I found this great DIY:

Follow the directions over here and it's actually ridiculously easy.
I made three yesterday.

The first one is red and I made it from the sleeve of a turtleneck.
FIY: One fun fact about me is that loath turtlenecks. Like. I will burn them all. So when Jacob, of all people, presented me with a red turtleneck to dismember, I cut it up...even though I didn't need to in that moment. It was satisfying.

The second braid I turned into a...

BRACELET! I love it! It's great!
I want to make a head band long enough to wrap around
my head twice too...but then I got sleepy!

Anyway, I've been really enjoying all of these.
It's a fun way to spend the afternoon,
it's a fun way to enhance my outfits,
and it's a great way to kill all turtlenecks reuse old t shirts!

Do you have any head band DIY's or cool ways to reuse old t shirts??

Put It In A Box!

The other day I was at Michael's Craft Store,
you can see the goodies I got over here,
and I bought this cool, beige photograph box.
You know, boxes like this:

I bought as a way to contain my crafting tidbits,
because I'm slowly collecting more and more things!
So exciting!
Anyway, I got to thinking a little while after that
and I remember my mother have these really old hat boxes
under her bed when I was a child.
I don't exactly remember what she had in them,
probably old jewelry that I couldn't play with.
But I was thinking about how beautiful they are.
I mean, take a look at some images I found:

There's just something about them,
maybe it's their history or their shape or
how they smell old,
but I just love them!
I want to buy them, collect them like vases or tea towels.
Use them as decoration or legitimate storage.
Beautiful, right?

What do you think of old hat boxes or photograph boxes?

Are you Pinterested?

If you enjoy blogging or reading blogs or DIY or just food,
you probably know Pinterest.
I was INSTANTLY addicted.
Because there is so much to look at on Pinterest,
I decided to narrow my current obsessions down to a few things
and share them with you!

1. My mother inspired me with this canned goods filled pantry.
One day I shall own a pantry and it shall look like this.

2. I was going to say I can't wait to have kids so it's finally acceptable to have a tree shaped bookcase, but I think I might actually look into this for my adult self.

3. I love this dresser (?). It's so beautiful! I also love the skirt she's wearing.

4. I know I shouldn't be thinking about weddings just quite yet, but thanks to my sister, I've been noticing things i'd like in a wedding since she got married last year! But I just can't forget about this beautiful black ribbon.

5. I think I might have posted about this...BUT I love, love, LOVE this pony dress DIY from A Beautiful Mess. I've been searching for a white dress now.

6. This mug would make it easier to get up in the morning.
It's just so cute!

7. The BEST idea for a condiment tray.

8. I apologize for the swearing but...lets face it....

9. This is the best mat. And it includes lots o' wine drinking!

10. I am in LOVE with HEELS these days. I'm scared that I will turn into Carrie and start buying more and more and more...I find myself seeing some and thinking "$56? That's not too bad..." When it IS! I have a problem guys.

What are some of your finds on Pinterest??

Wreath-er or Not!

Whether it's Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter...
I think there is always room for a cute WREATH to brighten up a room,
a door,
or an outside wall!

I know that wreaths are associated with Christmas and the holidays,
but I'm on a new mission to make wreaths for every season!

Before Christmas, I stumbled upon my new love for wreath making on A Beautiful Mess (One of my FAVORITE blogs..she's so cute and talented!) She inspired me to use different materials and different colors to brighten up any season!

This was the product of the tutorial:

After I saw how EASY this was, I went straight to the fabric store.
Follow the directions on the link above or follow me to the directions here!

This was my product:

My colors weren't as Fall-like as the original picture but this has allowed me to keep my wreath up all winter and now into (hopefully *fingers crossed*) SPRING!

Over the next few weeks, I plan on making a new one with more bright colors! Maybe a Spring garland?!
So many possibilities!
