Catching Up!

Since Saturday was a busy day, I didn't do much Sunday except cook, bake and eat my feelings.
Such as this...

Starbucks Via Caramel Iced Coffee...surprisingly delicious!

Black Bean Soup that literally took all of 20 minutes and was incredibly enjoyable!

Homemade whole wheat bread...so yummy! Find that recipe in one of my older posts.

And to finish off the day...

Mixed berry and honey sauce on top of...

It was such a wonderful Sunday! I wish I had been a bit more productive but...I'm ok with soup, bread and cake!!

As this new week, and month, begin, I have one thing on my mind...
COLOR!
I want so badly to go shopping.
I've been putting aside $10 here and $20 there so I have a little cash to get some new clothes for the new seasons!
How adult of me, right???

I'm thinking the following will be my first purchases:

I was reading an article in Glamour's April issue and it seems that yellow is in! Thank Jeebus! I love yellow :) I may need to snatch up one of these lovely dresses!

While I don't know when I would wear these or when I would be able to AFFORD them...I still want them! I love the details!

Dino tea towls?? These would go with my thrifted cast iron dino pans!

And my last want for this week is...and don't judge me for TOTALLY geeking out but...

If you know what I'm talking about...leave me a comment :)

Thrifty Friday!

I'm pretty sure that if I could spend everyday, or at least every OTHER day at a thrift store...I would.
I use to HATE going into thrift stores because the items weren't "new."
But I think it's just a young persons obsession with "new" things...
I spent my afternoon (a good three hours) at Goodwill and Savers (for those Best Coasters, Savers is a HUGE Goodwill. I could burn 6 hours there at LEAST).
While I was more successful at Goodwill,
I blame my lack of time and attention span to my short time at Savers.
There's just so much to look at that I can only go there in shifts.

This is what I found!

4 new wine glasses, a bottle for salad dressing and
a cast-iron muffin pan (super old) in the shape of DINOSAURS!

A green sweater (that I'm currently wearing),
a nude cardigan and a black jean dress (yes, I say
dress) and this RUSK bag, leather and super nice.

I love these earrings too.

I was so excited about all my finds, as usual, but I was the MOST excited about the muffin tin! It's super heavy and when Jake looked at the back, it said made in 1887 or something CRAZY like that.
While I still really enjoy shopping at my favorite stores, like Forever 21 and H&M for good deals, there's something about finding a treasure at a thrift store that makes it all worth while, ya know?

One item I HAD to pass up and was very sad about was this:

Isn't is wonderful?? I wanted it so badly. It was from England too! But it was $30 and I really have no use for it. Jake's really going to hate me as I get older...I'm going to fill our house with things that are pretty yet I don't really need!!

What are some of your favorite thrifty finds??

Favorite Things

I spent my morning doing laundry and catching up on unread blogs. I've seen so many amazing things this morning that I felt like making a little list of some of MY favorite things!

I want to be here...and I want it to be warm on my skin.

1. Old CD's. I pulled out my Maroon 5 crush and played my favorite song. I remember driving from Portland to Ashland during college, willing a boyfriend to feel this way about me!

2. I am obsessed with this lately. Jake bought one at Ikea and I love it! Makes everything taste like wonderful this!

3. I want a hand stamped pony dress!

4. I had an obsession with ear accessories in college and owned a lot of them, including a cute octopus that I promptly lost. I want it back!

5. I'm attempting to become a more serious blogger. To do this, I must have more TIME for one but I need to READ more. Bloglovin is a great way to do so! I just had to spend a few extra minutes reading all my new blog posts!

6. I've been itching to travel. I want to go somewhere that's warm and sparkly and festive and summer like. I think it's time for some heat.

7. I want purple hair.

8. I would like to have a tea party and make some lovely invitations and serve blueberry vodka lemonade. Ok, so it'd be a big girl tea party but it's fun to dress up anyway!

9. I want to join Team That Guy instead of Team Jacob of Twilight.

10. And while I feel THIS WAY inside most of the time, I try to reflect JOY as often as I can!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday! What are some of your favorite things??

My New Obsession

SO! I hope everyone have a wonderful Valentine's Day. I know I did! I made cupcakes for Jake then went to work. We've postponed our day together until this Saturday. Don't fret. You'll get an update ;)

Pasta and rice and almonds, oh my!
But I have this new obsession. With glass jars. Glass organizing jars. I've now decided that I want everything in my cabinets to be in glass jars, all different sizes, so I can see everything!!

My next step is to use the chalk board paint that Jake bought, paint a big strip across the front of the jar. Then I can write in chalk what's in the jar! (I know it'll be obvious what's in the jar but it'll be cute!)

So in honor of me FINALLY finding my home organization bug (believe me, I was never this clean or organized when I was a kid), I've decided to share some of my favorite ideas. I've gathered these ideas from other blogs and from Pinterest (one of my new favorite websites!)

What a freakin GREAT idea!

A Beautiful Mess has so many great ideas in general BUT under the "Decor" tab, there's an idea for a spice organizer! Some day I hope to have enough space to do so!!

Camille Styles is such a beautiful blog. I could spend HOURS on here just looking at pictures and getting ideas. I've wanted a garden since I moved here to Connecticut but since I don't have the space, I thought THIS was a great idea!

Lastly is a new blog I started following, While He Was Napping. So many cute ideas!!!!! I loved the bathroom mason jar organizer. I am so going to do THIS when we get a new place!

Alright, lovelies, that's all I have for the day!! I want to post what I did for Valentine's Day SO BADLY but since we aren't having our day until Saturday, I don't want to risk Jake actually reading this thing ;)

Till next time!
