Music Monday: The Voice

And another week begins!

I'm going to try and be positive this week.

I'm feeling a little strain right now, getting work done,

working a normal job, looking for apartments

and looking for jobs.

Trying to figure out life...you know the usual :)

I spent most of Sunday writing and catching up on The Voice.

I got up to the Semifinals but haven't seen the eliminations so, SHH!

My mind was blown and this I think was my fave performance...or at least top 3?

God it's so hard, everyone's so good!

Jamar Rogers is a 30 year old from, I think NYC, and he's HIV positive.

Every single song he sings gives me crazy goose bumps. 

This was his semifinal performance.

So good!

Juliet Simms is another amazing artist on this show. She so...just so GOOD!

Both of these people are just so entertaining to watch, it's incredible. 

Jake's making me save the Semifinal elimination episode for tonight while the Finals air on TV. 

I better put my blinders on all week until it's on Hulu!

I think The Voice is a really cool show, so different from American Idol.

I've been really enjoying this season and I can't wait to see who wins!

We Made It!

Congrats everyone! We made it to SATURDAY!

I love Saturday's, especially the mornings.

I got up this morning, cleaned my apartment (well picked up all the clothes and shoes etc), made some tea and now I'm settling in to do some awesome blog reading before hitting a local craft fair!

First off, I've had this song stuck in my head for a whole day and now I get to share it. It's one of my fave 80's hits (mostly because I LOVE LOVE Pretty In Pink)

All in all it was a wonderful day!

Now it's Saturday, Cinco de Mayo AND a craft fair all rolled into one!

I better go get ready for this fabulous day!

Oh, PS I have a new segment starting soon, hopefully next week, called Dinner with Alice and I'm really excited about it :)

TGIF!

Okay, who out there remembers TGIF?!

Oh man!

Boy Meets World was so good!

TGIF was always awesome then it was followed by Saturday morning cartoons! I'm sorry but cartoons these days just aren't as good!

The point is, TGIF was how I got through the week back in my younger days.

These days, besides Happy Hour, Friday doesn't really have anything special.

So today, I'm making it special by listening to all my favorite and guilty pleasure songs!

I thought I'd put together a little video list for you guys!

Off the Top Of My Head.

When I wake up in the morning, it's rarely rested and ready to get my day started. Especially weekdays.

I hear the alarm and hit snooze for the first. second, third, forth time,

hoping to hide in my bed for the rest of the morning and greet the day when I am good and darn ready!

But, alas, like many other people, I get up anyway...

...because adulthood, responsibility and, well, money, tell me to!

As a part of this getting up process, or more like as my pregetting up process, I like to lay in bed and imagine what I will wear, or rather, what I will do with my hair. See, my day job is bartending so I have to wear a black uniform most of the time. But on the off day, I get to wear real clothes!

I've found myself thinking more and more about my hair.

What to do with all this mess!

I have come to find that my new love (and I mean like true love) are:

HEADBANDS.

I think they are so brilliant!

They can dress you up or down.

Tame frizzies.

Hide greasy strands.

And bling you out!

So in honor of my new morning buddy, I scoured the internet looking for a few headbands worthy of sharing! 

And here's what I found!

First, I love headbands because they can be so cute! Everyone loves a little head bling!

They are super easy to make! Check out this tutorial with Elsie at A Beautiful Mess. I know what I'm doing this weekend!

I love how classy and fresh she looks! AND her hair is out of her face. I love headbands for this reason too. I have bangs and sometimes I just want them gone. But since I simply will not just cut the crap outta them and make them go away, I wear a headband that keeps them away :)

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

So far, it's been easy for me.

We're making posters in my classes so it doesn't require 

a lot of brain power...thank GOD...

So in that case, I'll share a photo that makes me smile today:

1. What is your favorite day of the week and why?

I love Saturdays. I know...it's cliche...but I love that first day I can sleep in without an alarm, I have nothing really to do and I can wake up and sit around in my PJ's...I would have said Sunday but Sunday is one day closer to Monday and...well...

2. If you decided to change your name, what would you change it to?

I always talked about changing my name when I was a kid. I hated how different it was but now I'm growing to love it! But I don't know what I would want to change my name to...Maybe something that means strong-willed... because I am :)

3. What is one product you use (it can be for anything) that you feel is a miracle worker?

I really don't! I'm not big unto make up, creams, liquids etc but I'm looking for some! Any suggestions??

4. High heels, flats, sneakers, or boots?

I'm going to let you in on a little secret...I'm a shoe FIEND...but have such a hard time buying said shoes. I'll look through magazines just to look at shoes and I'll browse stores and online but have such a hard time giving up money for them...weird, I know, right? But I love heels...especially wedges :)

5. You see your favorite celebrity (it can be any kid of celebrity- movie star, singer, writer, political leader, blogger) walking down the street, what do you do?

Honestly, I have no idea! I'd probably be too nervous to say anything but would stare the crap outta them!

6. If you could pick one item to never have to pay for again, what would it be?

Oh man...clothing. Hands down. I've always loved fashion and clothes but can never afford the things I really like! (Stupid minwage!)

7. what was your favorite tv show or movie growing up?

For me it was def Arthur. I loved that show!
